Men's bespoke suits

A suit cut to your own pattern, crafted in our Eaglemont workroom, and fitted to you at every stage. Business, wedding, black tie and everything in between.

The quick version

Book a fitting, choose your cloth with Domenico and have your pattern drafted, then collect a suit made only for you. Everything is made in the one studio by one master tailor, and your first consultation is free.

Business suits

Built for long days

A working suit gets no favours: long days, flights, meeting rooms with the heating up too high. Bespoke construction is what lets a suit take that punishment and still look right at the end of the day. Your jacket is built on canvas shaped to your chest, your trousers cut for how you sit and move, and the garment can often be adjusted as your life changes (depending on weight gain or loss).

A navy or grey worsted is the classic first commission. Domenico will tell you which cloths perform at a working week and which ones belong at occasional events.

Black tie & occasion

Nowhere to hide

Tuxedos and dinner suits reward the bespoke method more than anything else we make – there is nowhere for a poor fit to hide in black tie. Domenico is the Tuxedo Master of Melbourne. The results he achieves in formal attire are pure excellence.

What true bespoke involves

Your pattern, cut by hand, in one workroom

  • Your own pattern: drafted for you and refined at every fitting, from first measurement to final press. Your pattern is kept on file for future orders, so your next commission starts from a truer base.
  • Hand cutting: Domenico cuts your cloth himself, on his cutting table in Eaglemont.
  • Fittings that mean something: two fittings after the first appointment, each an adjustment to the garment, and the price agreed before any of it starts.
  • One workroom: Cutting, crafting and finishing all happen in-house in Melbourne – 100% Australian made. The Domenico Carbone Guarantee is simple: nothing is outsourced.

Questions men ask us

The things worth knowing first

What does a bespoke suit cost?

At your consultation Kellie will show you options across a range of prices, and you will know the full cost before anything is cut. There are no surprises after that point. For indicative pricing over the phone, call Kellie for a chat about your general sizing, height and cloth requests.

How long does it take?

Most suits are ready in around five weeks, all made in-house. If you are working to a date, tell us first — because nothing waits on an offshore factory, Domenico has met many tight deadlines.

How many fittings will I need?

Two, after the first appointment. Each takes place at the studio and is fitted by Domenico himself.

Is made-to-measure the same thing?

Made-to-measure adjusts a standard pattern to your measurements, often in an offshore factory. Bespoke starts with a blank sheet of paper and your body. If you have worn made-to-measure and felt it was close but never quite right, that gap is what bespoke closes.

Carbone Tailors cater for all types of clients and are more than willing to answer any queries you may have and show a true passion for what they do!
